All International Economy Shipments are subject to the FedEx Express Conditions of Carriage for EMEA.

In addition, the following specific conditions apply to International Economy shipments from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom to the European Union, Albania, Andorra, Bosnia, Croatia, Faeroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland and Vatican State.


 

  1. Items unacceptable for carriage

    • Packages with a value of more than € 5,000;
    • Goods which are insufficiently packed;
    • Goods which require special handling or careful treatment (because they are e.g. particularly fragile or can only be transported upright or only lying on a certain side);
    • Perishable or temperature controlled goods, remains, live animals;
    • Valuable goods (e.g. money, precious metals and stones, jewelry and genuine pearls, objects of art, collector’s items, antiques);
    • Goods the damage or loss of which would result in high consequential damages (e.g. volumes with sensitive data);
    • Phone cards and pre-paid cards, e.g. for mobile phones;
    • Valuable documents (e.g. securities, acceptance bills, savings books);
    • Firearms and essential weapon parts as well as ammunition;
    • Packages whose dispatch or storage would violate applicable laws;
    • Tobacco products and liquors;
    • Personal effects and carnet ATA goods;
    • Hazardous goods of all kinds;
    • Palletized packages;
    • All other items unacceptable for carriage as mentioned in the FedEx Express Conditions of Carriage for EMEA

    Any Packages inadvertently accepted in violation of the above restrictions may be invoiced to the customer as FedEx International Priority service.

  2. Size and weight limitations

    Packages with a weight of more than 50kg, a girth size (= circumference of the Package plus the longest side) of more than 3 m, a length of more than 2 m, a height of more than 0.6 m or a width of more than 0.8 m are not acceptable for carriage. Any Packages inadvertently accepted which exceed these limitations may be invoiced to the customer as FedEx International Economy Freight service.   3. Money Back Guarantee

    Money Back Guarantee does not apply.

  4. FedEx packaging

    No FedEx packaging may be used.

  5. Redelivery Service

    After a first unsuccessful delivery attempt at the consignee address, delivery may be made to the neighbor of the consignee or the Package may be held for collection by the consignee at a designated collection location.

  6. Limits of liability

    Unless the Sender enters a higher Declared Value for Carriage on the Air Waybill, the liability of FedEx is limited to the higher of a) the amount provided by the applicable international treaty or b) twenty-two (22) Euro per kilo with a maximum of €750 per Package.
