Dangerous goods are divided into nine classes, plus a few sub-classes. The class your product falls under will affect how you pack, label and transport it.
There are six basic steps.
Booking and Documentation: You'll need to prepare important documents like a commercial invoice, packing list, and possibly certificates or permits depending on the goods and destination.
Packaging and Pickup: Pack your goods securely to avoid damage during transit. Then, they're picked up and moved to the departure airport.
Export Customs Clearance: Before your shipment leaves the country, it must be cleared by customs. This ensures all legal and tax obligations are met.
International Transport: Your goods are transported to an airport in the destination country.
Import Customs Clearance: Upon arrival, your shipment goes through customs again to check documents, duties, and taxes.
Final Delivery: Once cleared, your shipment is transported to its final destination, whether that's a warehouse, store, or other business location.
