Please be advise of the recent customs regulation changes:

1. Used / Second Hand Goods
Any Used or Second Hand goods are restricted from entering India. Whether declared or undeclared, these shipments will be subjected to litigation and the shipper or consignee is liable for severe fine & penalties, other than the normal customs duty & taxes.

2. Import Export Certificate
Customers in India engaging in import or export activities for commercial purposes are required to hold a valid Import Export Certificate (IEC). This includes and is not limited to importers, exporters, traders or buying house. Without this, customers will have their shipments subject to fine or penalties by the Indian Customs over and above the normal duty & taxes.

Individuals not involved with any commercial activities are excluded from the IEC requirement.

3. Laptop
Any brand NEW Laptops imported by an individual or company will be subjected to customs duties/taxes.

Any Old or Used Laptops (declared or undeclared) imported by an individual or company in India is prohibited and will be liable for severe fines & penalties, other than the normal customs duty & taxes.

4. Commercial Invoices
All non-document shipments are required to have a Commercial Invoice copy stating the unit price, quantity and duly signed by the shipper. The shipper should not use the description "value for customs purpose only".
