Electronic Trade Document - A Sustainable Solution for Preparing Shipping Documents

FedEx is pleased to introduce Electronic Trade Documents (ETD), a new solution which makes it quicker and easier for our customers to prepare their shipments, at the same time as helping the environment.

What is ETD?
Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) is a FedEx solution that allows you to electronically transmit the required documentation for international shipments instead of having to manually submit the paperwork. It’s that simple!

Peace of mind for international shippers.
ETD optimizes the customs clearance process by providing the paperwork in advance of the shipment arrival, giving brokers additional time to resolve any difficulties. But remember, you still need to input detailed information about your shipment to facilitate smooth customs clearance.

Realize additional operational efficiencies.
With ETD, you can create your own trade documents with your company letterhead and signature, and adapt them for future shipments to reduce repeated data entry. That means saving time and money!

A sustainable solution.
What’s more, ETD helps you save paper and ink and reduces your carbon footprint because it avoids the need to print up to 3 copies of trade documents per shipment, amounting to hundreds of pieces of paper per day for some customers.

ETD is available within FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com and FedEx Ship Manager Software.  It is free of charge and there are no volume requirements or associated charges.  For information on how to get started with ETD please click here.
