New Zealand Duty/Tax Deferred Payment Method

For maximum efficiency and convenience in processing payment of duties and taxes for your imported shipments, you can choose a payment option which is known as "Deferred Payment" directly with the New Zealand Customs. Instead of reimbursing FedEx for payments advanced by FedEx on your behalf on a monthly basis or upon delivery, you can elect to settle with the New Zealand Customs directly.

Deferred Payment means that you open a Deferred Payment Account with the New Zealand Customs and settle duties and taxes payable on the entire month\'s transactions with a single payment. The New Zealand Customs will send statements of account on a monthly basis and payment will have to be made direct to the New Zealand Customs by 20th each month.

To apply for Deferred Payment, please contact New Zealand Customs Service. Please be reminded to provide us your Deferred Payment Account number so that the import duties and taxes payable on your future shipments can be deducted directly from this account.

For details of the Deferred Payment Scheme and to obtain the relevant application forms, please visit at www.customs.govt.nz click on Importers and follow the links to \'Deferred Payment Scheme.\'
