FEDEX CUTS DELIVERY TIME TO CHRISTCHURCH & WELLINGTON FROM ASIA BY A THIRD

FedEx delivers speed-to-market to north & south islands

Auckland, NEW ZEALAND, 18 August, 2005 -- FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) the world's largest express transportation company, announced that it has cut its delivery times for packages from Asia to Christchurch and Wellington by one day to two business days. FedEx now provides New Zealand's fastest delivery service from Asia to Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

By breaking the three-day barrier, FedEx brings the South Island into parity with the North Island, with customers in Christchurch and Wellington able to enjoy the same two-day service as customers in Auckland. FedEx is currently the only transportation company able to offer customers in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington this guaranteed level of speed and reliability.

"We are pleased to reduce our customer's time-to-market by one third," said Rhicke Jennings, Managing Director of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands, FedEx Express. "This breakthrough demonstrates FedEx's ongoing commitment to New Zealand - by continually looking for ways that we can improve the service we offer to our customers, we are proud to offer the fastest service from Asia to Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington."
