August, 2003 VENEZUELA: Import into Venezuela
Effective on September 1st, all imports into Venezuela with declare value of or above USD 5000.00 FOB, need to have a previous inspection at origin. Shipments must contain the certificate of inspection from origin in order to be able to clear customs in Venezuela. Importers need to do all the necessary arrangements before attempting to import into Venezuela. All shipments with declared value of or above USD 5000.00 without an inspection certificate from origin can not be customs cleared and are subject to re-exportation back to origin.
