New FedEx Asia-Pacific Hub Commences Operations from Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou
The new FedEx Asia-Pacific Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in southern China began operations on February 6, 2009. The state-of-the art facility represents a major investment by FedEx that demonstrates our long-term commitment to better serving the business needs of our customers in the fast-growing China and Asia-Pacific markets.
With a total floor space of approximately 82,000 square meters, the hub can sort up to 24,000 packages an hour, double our previous capacity, thus enabling us to improve the speed and efficiency of our service
In addition, the new hub features its own ramp control tower – a first for an international air express cargo company facility in China; this allows FedEx to fully manage its own air operations at the hub, and consequently offer even higher standards of reliability. With more than 135 weekly flights, it provides our customers with access to increased business opportunities globally.
FedEx will continue to maintain its presence in the country to provide reliable international express services to the Philippines, with Manila and Cebu remaining as integral parts of the FedEx AsiaOne® network. We are committed to continuously serving its customers in the Philippines.
The opening of the new hub will ensure the FedEx team is uniquely positioned to help you grow your business overseas. We look forward to serving your evolving needs in international express shipping with the increased connectivity that our new hub provides.
