With effect from May 9, 2011, the transit time for inbound International Priority (IP) or International Economy (IE) shipments from all origins to the following cities/wards in the greater Tokyo area will be improved by one business day:

  • Western Tokyo: Hamura, Higashi-Yamato, Musashi-Murayama, Oume cities and Nishitama-gun, Mizuho-machi.
  • Kanagawa prefecture: Yokohama city, Tsurumi-ku
  • Saitama Prefecture: Soka and Yashio cities

Inbound shipments to the above destinations will be delivered on the same day that they arrive at Narita International Airport and complete customs clearance.

This expands the area already covered by this service improvement which was introduced in the following cities/wards in April last year:

Western Tokyo:

  • 6 cities (Akishima, Tachikawa, Hachioji, Tama, Hino and Fuchu cities)

Kanagawa prefecture:

  • 6 wards in Yokohama city (Kanazawa, Kanagawa, Kohoku, Naka, Nishi and Tsuzuki-ku)
