FedEx Strengthens Delivery and Pick-up Services in Southern Taiwan

Provide Customers with More Convenient and Flexible Express Services

TAIPEI, May 17, 2003 - FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, today announced that, effective from June 1, all inbound packages from Asia and Europe to the Greater Tainan and Kaohsiung areas will be delivered by noon with half-day service improvement. In addition, FedEx extends the call-in cut-off times for outbound shipments in the Greater Kaohsiung area by up to four hours, the company will extend the same-day flight call-in cut-off times in the Greater Kaohsiung area by up to four hours to as late as 5:30 p.m.

These service enhancements further demonstrate FedEx's dedication in providing customers with superior services and help customers in Southern Taiwan to strengthen their competitive edge in international business.

With FedEx's unparalleled global network, all inbound shipments from Asia and Europe to the Greater Tainan and Kaohisung will be delivered by noon. The new delivery schedule allows packages to arrive a half day earlier, compared with the previous schedule. Outbound packages from the Greater Kaohsiung areas enjoy up to 4 hours' cut-off time extension. Customers can simply call the FedEx customer service hotline prior to the cut-off times, all outbound packages will be loaded onto a same-day flight, allowing deliveries to major Asian cities the next day and deliveries to U.S. West Coast the next morning local time. Packages to European cities will also be delivered on the second day.
