Know Your Liability Limits
At FedEx, we are committed to getting your shipments delivered on time. However, as we transport 3.5 million packages throughout our global network every day, there may be rare occasions when a shipment is damaged, delayed or lost. In such cases, the first step to take is to contact your local Customer Service team or your account executive for assistance.
FedEx’s Standard Conditions of Carriage, which apply to our international express services, limits FedEx’s maximum liability for loss, damage or delay or any other claim with regard to any shipment to 17 SDR*/kg of the shipment or US$100**, whichever is greater, unless a higher value for carriage has been declared on the air waybill and a supplementary charge has been paid.
If a customer declares a higher value for carriage (subject to the limits imposed on the value that may be declared), FedEx’s liability for loss, damage or delay of a shipment will not exceed its repair cost, its depreciated value or its replacement cost, whichever is the least.

* ‘SDR’ stands for Special Drawing Rights, an international reserve asset created by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Each SDR may be exchanged for other currencies. More information can be found at http://www.imf.org/external/np/exr/facts/sdr.htm.
**Actual weight or dimensional weight, whichever is greater.
