FedEx Extends Cut-off Times

Now FedEx Customers Can Fax In Customs Clearance Documents Later For Greater Convenience and Flexibility

TAIPEI, Aug 7, 2003 - FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the extension of cut-off times of "fax-in" customs clearance documents for customers in the Greater Taipei area by up to four hours, providing customers with more flexible and convenient express solutions.

Effective today, customers in the Greater Taipei area can fax in all the formal customs clearance documents, including the formal customs clearance checking list, commercial invoice, packing list and proof of authorization (POA) before 5:00 p.m. (previously 3:00 p.m.) to the FedEx Export Document Department for shipments destined to cities in Asia, Europe and the U.S. West Coast. For shipments destined to other parts of the U.S., customers can fax in all the documents as late as 4:00 p.m. compared to the previous cut-off time of 12:00 noon.

After faxing in all formal customs clearance documents, FedEx allows customers to call FedEx customer toll free hotline at 0800-075-075 for pick-ups. Customers can rest assured that their packages will be loaded onto a same-day flight for time-definite delivery. Additional terms and conditions may apply and customers can obtain more information via the Internet (www.fedex.com/tw), or by locally dialing FedEx customer service hotline.

"These cut-off time extensions provide our customers in the Greater Taipei area with more time to prepare all necessary documents and arrangements for pick-ups. This service enhancement is yet another demonstration of FedEx¡¯s long-standing commitment to providing customers with more flexible and convenient express solutions," said Jimmy Chen, Managing Director of FedEx in Taiwan.
