FedEx Introduces Global Transit Time to Customers

New Tools Bring More Convenience to Customers

HONG KONG, May 31, 2004 - FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the launch of Global Transit Time (GTT), an online global tool that aims to help customers make shipping decisions based on transit time results. Customers can visit the FedEx website (www.fedex.com) to calculate the delivery time between two or multiple destinations within the FedEx network using the GTT system.

A range of possible variables may influence transit times for shipments including shipment type, customs clearance and Saturday delivery. Conveniently accessible on the web, the GTT system is equipped with easy-to-use functions, which help to define and categorize particular shipments and generate transit time quotes.

Based on the information entered, the system will return with a transit time, taking into consideration of factors which might cause delays. To equip customers with details concerning their shipping selection, the result will also include a list of the typical shipping documents required for the particular shipment, such as air waybill and commercial invoice among others.

"FedEx Express has been dedicated to providing its customers with advanced tools to guide them through the shipping process. We thrive on providing the most innovative and practical solutions and services to all customers, taking into consideration their specific needs and demands," said Linda Brigance, Chief Information Officer, FedEx Asia Pacific. "The GTT system is designed to provide more detailed and accurate information to customers enabling them to choose the most appropriate shipping options."

The newly launched GTT application is intended to further enhance the online customer experience by providing more user-friendly functionality. Previously information about shipment delivery time was only available to shippers by telephoning FedEx Customer Service.
