May 3, 2006 EU to impose anti-dumping duty on Chinese and Vietnamese leather shoes
Effective 4th April 2006, the European Union Trade Commission will impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on all leather shoes imported from China and Vietnam. This will be progressively implemented over a five month period beginning with a 4% duty and eventually reaching the final rates of 19.4% for CN and 16.8% for VN. Products which are exempted from this ruling are children's shoes and Special Technology Advanced Footwear such as hi-tech sports shoes.
