Pickup Request Process for Outbound Shipments
The Royal Thai Customs Department introduced a new regulation of paperless clearance process on August 21, 2008 requiring all air carriers to submit a manifest for all outbound shipments to the Royal Thai Customs 2 hours prior to flight departure.
As a result, effective March 1, 2009, customers are required to provide all shipping information on each outbound shipment to FedEx Customer Service upon pickup request. This will facilitate the speed and ease of customs clearance which will enable FedEx to meet the requirements of the new regulation.
When calling FedEx Customer Service to make a pickup request, please make one booking per one shipment and provide all shipping information on each shipment. This information includes commodity description, pieces, weight, dimension, declared value and consignee name.
In addition, self-service pickup option via automatic interactive voice response will no longer be available starting February 1, 2009.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter. Should you have any inquiries or concerns about the new requirement, please contact our Customer Service Team at 1782, or toll free number for customers outside Bangkok at 1800-236-236.
