BANGKOK, February 25, 2004 – FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, today celebrated the launch of its new World Service Centre in Silom Road, catering to customers in Bangkok's central business district.
Opening the Centre, Clifton Chua, Managing Director for FedEx Thailand, Philippines and Indochina said “FedEx has an enormous commitment to Thailand and we will continue to grow our presence in the Kingdom, as our customer base continues to expand.”
FedEx’s World Service Centre, located in the Silom Road Jewelry Trade Centre, offers convenient access for customers in the central business and trade centre of Bangkok as well as to the city’s high-value gem and jewelry trade, providing next day delivery to Asia on FedEx’s leading AsiaOne® Network.
“This new FedEx World Service Centre reinforces our confidence in Thailand as a good place to do business. With such a robust Thai economy, FedEx is well positioned to support the strong export demand for Thai products, and the growing local demand for goods” said Mr. Chua.
FedEx also launched its newly upgraded facility in Chiang Mai, which offers a larger station to handle a greater volume of customer shipments, later opening hours and faster and easier access to the local airport.
“The new FedEx World Service Centre and upgraded station in Chiang Mai will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacturing and export industry in Thailand, which is demanding faster and more reliable business solutions to help companies enhance their efficiency,” Mr. Chua continued.
In addition to the new centre at Silom Road, FedEx has nine customer service centres located in Bangkok (3), Chaing Mai, Lumpoon, Bangna, Laksi, Korat and Lam Chabang. FedEx has gateway operations at Bangkok International Airport.
