Bangkok, THAILAND, 18 January 2005 -- Thanks to FedEx, the world's largest express transportation company, Pratunam Centre retail shops and customers now have access to international express shipping services as FedEx Express officially launched their 14th World Service Centre in Thailand to meet the rising shipping demands of local SME's and tourists in the Pratunam area.

Clifton Chua, Managing Director of FedEx Thailand, Indochina and Philippines, said, "FedEx continues to focus on Thailand's SME market and provide them with logistic solutions to expand their market reach. We are the world's largest express transportation company and serve more than 220 countries with our express services. FedEx is proud to be of service to the Thai communities and we will continue to seek out ways to better serve them".

"The Pratunam Centre operates over 200,000 square meters of retail space, and has more then 2,500 shops. The express shipping convenience that FedEx is bringing to the area is welcomed with open arms as both the local businesses and tourists will benefit from their presence," added Maitree Yimyam, Director of Great China Millennium (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Pratunam Centre.

FedEx Express has opened four new world service centers in the Greater Bangkok Area over the past twelve months - in Bangna, Kao Sarn Rd., Nana Square and the Pratunam Centre.

"Thailand's small business sector is growing. In 2004 it employed over 60% of the nation's workforce, and accounted for nearly 40% of Thailand's GDP. FedEx understands the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, and has helped countless small business owners expand their product distribution and grow their business." Continued Mr. Chua

According to Thai Government figures, small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) represented over 45% of the country's total shipments of industrial products in 2004, up from just over 38% in 2003.

"The new centre is well positioned to support Thailand's strong manufacturing and export industries. In addition, the newest service centre allows FedEx to respond to the growing demand from customers, providing fast and reliable solutions to increase business efficiency." continued Mr. Chua.
