FedEx Extends Call-in Cut-off Times in Northern, Mid and Southern Taiwan

Customers to Enjoy More Convenient and Flexible Express Services

TAIPEI, Oct 1, 2003 - FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, today announced that effective on October 6, 2003, the call-in cut-off times in the areas of Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, and Tainan will be extended by up to four hours to as late as 7:00 p.m.

After extending the cut-off times in the Greater Taipei area, Kaohsiung and Pingdung, FedEx continues to deliver superier customer service by rolling out new service enhancements across Taiwan. The extended cut-off times will provide additional time for customers to arrange their shipments, while ensuring that their packages will be loaded on a same-day flight simply by calling the FedEx customer service hotline with a pick-up request before the cut-off times. Thanks to FedEx's unparalleled global network, all shipments destined for Asia will be delivered the next day, and those heading to the U.S. will arrive the next morning local time. Packages to European cities will also be delivered within two working days. The delivery schedule will be exactly the same as in the Greater Taipei area, meaning that Taiwan customers can enjoy the same level of express services across the island.

"The large-scale extension of cut-off times in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung and Tainan clearly demonstrates FedEx's commitment to our customers. Through planning and adjusting our operations, we aim to provide the most flexible and convenient express transportation services for our Taiwan customers. The new service enhancement not only consolidates FedEx’s leading position in the express industry, but also reiterates FedEx's commitment to the Taiwan market," said Jimmy Chen, Managing Director of FedEx in Taiwan.
