2005 Press Releases
Customers to enjoy convenient, efficient and economic service
2005¡XFedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world¡¦s largest express transportation company, today announced the launch of a one-stop customs clearance service for companies at Hsinchu Science Based Industrial Park (SBIP). All inbound bonded shipments for companies located at the Park will be cleared at FedEx¡¦s CKS Transshipment center. As a result of streamlined customs clearance procedures, companies can save time and costs traditionally incurred from the transit of bond truck to SBIP, appointment of brokerage and warehousing for customs clearance. Businesses in the Park can now enjoy speedy and direct inbound service from FedEx.
¡§This one-stop customs clearance service is one of the Taiwan authorities¡¦ initiatives to deregulate customs clearance for bonded shipments into the SBIP, in order to enhance the competitiveness of high-tech companies. As a facilitator of global trade, we welcome the deregulation which will benefit companies at SBIP and subsequently Taiwan¡¦s growing high-technology industry,¡¨ said Mr. Scott Williams, managing director of FedEx Taiwan.
Mr. Williams continues, ¡§We are optimistic about the prospects for Taiwan¡¦s express and logistics market and will continue to work with the related authorities to provide the right service for our customers in order to strengthen Taiwan¡¦s global competitiveness.¡¨
