Strategic Sponsorship; FedEx Signs Multi-Year Deal With the National
Football League

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2000--FedEx Corp.
(NYSE:FDX), the world's premier global provider of transportation,
logistics, e-commerce and supply-chain management services, will
become the "Official Worldwide Delivery Service Sponsor" of the
National Football League (NFL) beginning this fall.
The three-year agreement gives FedEx NFL marketing rights
domestically and worldwide. FedEx also will be an official sponsor of
the 32 NFL teams, Super Bowl and Pro Bowl.
"FedEx helps its customers win at business by providing total
transportation solutions through its extensive air, ground and
information networks that include FedEx Express and FedEx Ground,"
said Brian Philips, FedEx vice president of U.S. Marketing. "This
sponsorship of the NFL allows FedEx to communicate this important
message to business decision-makers through a venue that reaches
millions of people and has an incredibly loyal fan base."
The sponsorship will bring greater brand awareness to new FedEx
services including FedEx Home Delivery, a business-to-consumer
residential delivery service. The company's two primary operating
units, FedEx Express and FedEx Ground, will be highlighted with the
sponsorship. An integrated marketing plan including advertising,
events, direct marketing, Internet marketing and promotions also will
be developed.

sets the standard for reliability and service in the transportation
