Printer-Friendly FedEx and United Way

FedEx "absolutely, positively" cares about the communities in which we live and work, and so does the United Way of America. Through financial support and employee volunteerism, FedEx helps the United Way meet a variety of community needs.

About United Way of America
Since 1887, the United Way has mobilized the caring power of communities. The national organization, United Way of America, invests in programs and services that help identify and address the needs of local communities. At the community level, the work is carried out through a system of 1,400 local organizations each independently operated, separately incorporated and governed by local volunteers.

FedEx and the United Way
In 1975, FedEx began its relationship with the United Way with a corporate gift, and that relationship has continued to grow over time. Today, FedEx supports the United Way in two primary ways: corporate giving campaigns and volunteerism. Fundraising takes place in each FedEx company, along special events such as the United Way telethon broadcast on the in-house FXTV television network. FedEx volunteers also participate in activities such as the United Way "Day of Caring" events held nationwide or programs like the "Loaned Executive" program, where FedEx employees work for United Way agencies for three months during the year.

About FedEx Employee Volunteers
Every year, thousands of FedEx employees participate in United Way "Day of Caring" events. Read some of our employee volunteer stories to see how being involved with the United Way is impacting communities – and our employees' lives.
