We missed you! No worries. We left a door tag behind with easy instructions to get your package redelivered or redirected.
You want delivery options that fit your busy schedule. When you can't be available and you've missed a FedEx Express® package delivery — whether it’s a prescription, business documents or a gift from Grandma — you want simple instructions on how and where to pick up your package or how to request its redelivery.
New door tag design for easy reading
Waiting at home for a delivery isn't always possible. When you can't be there, rest easy. Your FedEx Express driver will leave a door tag to show a delivery attempt was made. And with our newly redesigned door tags, you'll find it even easier to get your package.
How to obtain your package
The FedEx Express door tag shows two options for picking up your package if you've missed a delivery:
- Same-day pickup at the FedEx location specified on the door tag.
- Next-day (or later) pickup at a nearby eligible FedEx Office location of your choice.
You can also request that we reattempt delivery of your package. Instructions about what is required from you for a second delivery, such as leaving the signed tag on the door or being present for delivery, are noted in the section labeled "Delivery requirements."
If we successfully delivered your package, the bottom of the door tag identifies where you can find it, such as at your front or back door, by the garage, or at a neighbor's house.
Hold at FedEx Location
To avoid missing a delivery, you can request delivery to a FedEx Office location near you. Call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339, or go to fedex.com. Use the door tag or tracking number and select a FedEx Office location near you, then click Hold at FedEx Location to verify eligibility. We'll deliver your package to the eligible location of your choice at no extra cost.
When your shipment arrives, we'll notify you and hold the package in a secure area until you pick it up. You can pick up your items when it's convenient for you, within five business days. Some locations are open 24 hours a day — many until 9 p.m.
To claim your package, you'll need your government-issued identification and the package tracking number. You can also request this option before we attempt delivery if you prefer not to accept a package at your residence.
