Brazil 2 Oct. H Brazilian postal workers ended their walkout late 28 September, agreeing to let a local arbitrator decide on salary adjustments. It will take at least 10 days to deliver the 42.3 million letters and 182,200 packages that piled up during the strike, which started Sept. 16.
  18 Sep. H Brazilian postal workers kicked off a nationwide strike 16 September as government officials scrambled to prepare a new wage offer. The striking locals cover about 70% of the nation's 110,000 postal workers and the strike was set to last indefinitely.
France 13 Nov. H Five French trade unions will call a strike on November 24 to protest against a draft law to turn French postal services provider La Poste into a public company as it endangers their jobs and benefits.
  25 Sep. H Thousands of post office workers across France joined the National day of Protest and went on strike on 22 September to protest job cuts and government plans to convert the organisation into a publicly owned limited company.

Philippines 2 Oct. H A state of disaster has been declared in 26 areas of Luzon, including Metro Manila, owing to tropical storm Ondoy which struck the Philippines on 26 September 2009, causing the most severe flooding in over 40 years. Delivery of all classes of inbound international mails is subject to delays, particularly in the areas in which a state of disaster has been declared.
United Kingdom 6 Nov. H British postal workers said on 5 November that they would suspend further strike action until at least after Christmas under an interim agreement reached between unions and state-owned Royal Mail.
  6 Nov. H Postal workers are to stage two all-out strikes in the next two weeks, despite a renewed effort to reach a settlement during talks with Royal Mail. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) plans for one-day walkouts 6 November, and then on 9 November, representing an escalation in the crisis. It came as Royal Mail disclosed that the backlog of undelivered post from Thursday's partial walkout had reached 35 million items.
  30 Oct. H A second nationwide industrial action by postal workers held from 29 to 31 October ( 29 October Mail Centres & Network Distribution Units, 30 October Manual Data Entry Centres and London Collections Hubs, and 31 October Delivery Offices) led to continued disruption of letter-post operations. Operations at London's airport mail units will be maintained, and acceptance of inbound international mail and parcels will be unaffected by this action.
  23 Oct. H Royal Mail has advised that industrial action by postal workers on 22 and 23 October led to disruption of letter-post operations. Royal Mail is working to minimize any effects of this action and acceptance of inbound international mail and parcel deliveries were not affected by the industrial action.
  16 Oct. H Postal workers are to stage two nationwide strikes next week in a bitter row over pay, jobs and working conditions. 42,000 mail centre staff and drivers will walk out 22 October for 24 hours, followed by another 24-hour stoppage on 23 October by 78,000 delivery and collection staff.
  9 Oct. H British postal workers voted in favour of a national strike in a bitter row over jobs and pay. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said 76 percent of its members balloted backed a nationwide walkout in protest at the "imposition" of changes to working practices as well as pay cuts and job losses with the prospect of 120,000 postmen and women on strike by the end of October.
  2 Oct. H A fresh round of postal strikes this week will see more than 15,000 Royal Mail staff walk out over jobs and pay. The Communication Workers Union said members would strike for 24 hours in areas including London, Cambridge, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Nottingham, Glasgow and Coventry.
  18 Sep. H The rolling industrial actions continue this week with 24 hour stoppages concentrated in Cambridgeshire on 14 September, followed by Middlesbrough on 15 September and then London on Wednesday 16 September.
  28 Aug H Britain’s postal network will be hit by a fresh wave of walkouts next week when thousands more Royal Mail workers go on strike. Postal workers from Bognor Regis, the Isle of Wight and Greater Manchester will join those in Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Middlesbrough and other offices in a series of 24-hour strikes. It will be the third consecutive week in which the service has been hit by strikes.
  28 Aug H Another wave of rolling 24-hour strikes will be conducted by Postal Workers in the UK this week. Strikes this week will hit Skegness and Huntingdon on 24 August, Rochdale on 25 August, Birmingham, Coventry, London, Essex, Peterborough, Cambridge, Bristol, Leeds and Bridgend on 27 August, London, Stirling and Edinburgh on 28 August and Middlesbrough, London and the Isle of Wight on 29 August.
  21 Aug H Postal Workers in the United Kingdom continued their 24-hour rolling strikes. The series of 24-hour strikes this week will hit places including London 17 August, Essex and Bristol on 19 August and Peterborough on 20 August.
