Friday, November 7/ Saturday, November 8 – Depart U.S. / Arrive in New Delhi
Flights from the U.S. arrive into New Delhi late evening the day after departure.
If planning a visit to Agra and the Taj Mahal prior to the start of the mission, plan to arrive a day early. Upon checking into your hotel, be sure to pick up your Welcome Package from the hotel desk.
Sunday, November 9 – New Delhi
The mission begins on Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception and Dinner.
You will be greeted by representatives from the government of India, Indian business organizations, FedEx and the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS). Take advantage of the opportunity to meet other mission delegates, network with the India business community and enjoy the entertainment and program for the evening, “Cultural Aspects of Doing Business in India”.
Monday, November 10 – New Delhi
The morning session begins with an informal Delegation Meeting to review the mission schedule and logistics. This is also the time to register for matchmaking sessions with the Commercial Service, site visits, seminar sessions and more.
The U.S. Ambassador will join the Delegation Meeting and provide valuable insights on doing business in India.
American Chamber (AmCham) Small Business Summit begins mid-morning and continues through the rest of the day.
The summit concludes with a delegation photo opportunity.
Mission participants will attend a reception and dinner at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence along with government officials and members of the U.S. and India business communities.
Tuesday, November 11 (Veterans Day) – New Delhi, travel to Hyderabad
Attend the event(s) of your choice. You can either attend matchmaking sessions arranged for you by the Commercial Service, or briefing sessions on a variety of industry topics.
Following lunch, visit a manufacturing facility for a presentation and tour to see an example of the Indian style of manufacturing.
Following the tour, travel to Hyderabad and enjoy a traditional welcome and dinner.
Wednesday, November 12 –Hyderabad
Hyderabad is one of the most developed cities in the country and a modern hub of information technology, ITES, and biotechnology.
In the morning, the Commercial Service presents an overview of Hyderabad as well as a discussion on “Partnering in India”.
Roundtable discussions on “Doing Business in India” with U.S. and India business people follow the opening session. Gain from the experiences of these executives as they launched their businesses in India. For a more in depth understanding, join one of the several industry sector breakout groups following the panel.
Next, travel to one of India’s education institutions for a private luncheon with faculty members and other guests followed by a tour of the school. Take advantage of the opportunity to meet with both faculty and students. See first-hand why the graduates of some India’s schools are among the most sought-after in the world.
In the evening, enjoy a networking reception and dinner with members of the India business community.
Thursday, November 13 (Guru Nank Jayanti) – Hyderabad / travel to Mumbai
The morning session includes matchmaking sessions as well as overviews of several of India’s most important industry sectors.
Enjoy a networking lunch with one of India’s business organizations.
Then enjoy a free afternoon in Hyderabad, the City of Pearls.
Late afternoon, travel to Mumbai, the final city on this trade mission.
Friday, November 14 – (Children’s Day) – Mumbai
The US Consul General in Mumbai will welcome the delegation to the largest city and the largest economy in India. Gain a better understanding of this city from his presentation on “Doing Business in India: The Mumbai Perspective”.
Delegates will then travel to the American Center to enjoy a presentation by the Tiffinwala Association and observe the Tiffinwala distribution process in action. The process is an amazing example of a very efficient process to distribute meals to thousands of people in this very busy city.
Next, delegates travel to the financial center to see one of the largest exchanges in the world. Expand your knowledge and gain an appreciation of the role of the exchange in the growth of India’s economy and the role of the exchange in the global economy.
Enjoy a late networking lunch with keynote speaker from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Select from several options for the afternoon: matchmaking sessions with the Commercial Service, seminars on the leading industry sectors in Mumbai, or enjoy an afternoon on your own.
Plan to attend the gala reception and dinner at the US Consul General’s residence.
Saturday, November 15 – Mumbai
Arrange for additional sessions with the Commercial Service, meetings with industry sector specialists, or your own personal business meetings. You may also chose to take some time out to enjoy this very interesting and historical city.
