Turkey Trade Mission Itinerary*
Friday, Nov. 6 to Saturday, Nov. 7: Depart the U.S. and Arrive in Istanbul
- Flights from the U.S. arrive into Istanbul the day after departure.
- Plan to arrive a day early to give yourself time to adjust to the difference in time zones.
- The mission begins on Sunday evening with an informal delegation meeting to review the mission schedule and logistics.*
- Take advantage of the opportunity to meet other mission delegates, network, and enjoy Turkish food and entertainment.
- The morning session begins with a welcome by the U.S. Embassy staff in Turkey and continues with a briefing on Doing Business in Turkey by the U.S. Commercial Service.
- Program: Briefings by businesses currently operating in Turkey.
- Enjoy lunch and network with representatives from Turkish business organizations.
- Business Delegation Matchmaking sessions begin this day and will continue throughout the afternoon.
- The evening program includes the Consular reception with representatives from the U.S. government, the government of Turkey, the U.S. Commercial Service in Turkey and other organizations.
- Business Delegation Matchmaking sessions are scheduled throughout the day.
- In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Bosporus.
- Follow up with contacts you met in earlier matchmaking sessions; catch up on your U.S. business; take time to tour some of the city's historical sites such as the Blue Mosque, Haiga Sophia, or other city attractions. Your option.
- Fly to Ankara in the afternoon.
- Enjoy an Icebreaker event with Turkish business organizations in the evening.
- Business Delegation Matchmaking meetings.
- Groups call on government offices.
- Travel to Izmir in the evening.
- Enjoy dinner at a Turkish restaurant.
- Business Delegation Matchmaking sessions.
- Site visit to the Aegean Free Trade Zone, ESBAS, or another commercial location.
- Take part in the closing meeting at the end of the day.
- Consider extending your stay to enjoy some of the sites of this historical city on the Aegean Coast.
