Printer-Friendly Two States Down, Two More Wins in the Books
The TDC convoy rolled into Louisiana this weekend where FedEx competitors added two more champs to the total.
Kyle Mitchell, Sr., a FedEx Freight driver based in Baton Rouge, took first place in the Tank Truck category. Kyle’s fellow FedEx Freight competitor, Kenny Benoit, a driver out of Lafayette, earned first place in the 5-Axle class.
FedEx Freight also got into the mix of top finishers with Lafayette-based drivers Eric Courville and Ricky Lail taking home the second-place trophies in the 3-Axle and Twins categories, respectively. Rounding out the FedEx Freight winners was James Taylor, out of Shreveport. James placed third in the 5-Axle Sleeper class.
FedEx Ground also represented Team FedEx well with top finishes in the Step Van and Straight Truck classes. Dwayne Butler took second, while Brian Boyd finished third in the newly nationally recognized Step Van class. Both drivers are Home Delivery contractors in New Orleans. Baton Rouge-based contractor and previous Straight truck champ Chris Morgan placed third in the class.
Louis James finished up the list of individual Team FedEx winners with his third-place in the 4-Axle class. Louis is a New Orleans-based driver for FedEx Express.
FedEx Freight also won the Outstanding Achievement award.
The competitions go on a one-week hiatus but return April 17-19, with the South Carolina state competition and the Northern California regionals. With two states in the books, FedEx has five representatives heading to the NTDC in Pittsburgh.
