Our experienced staff will pack your shipment for you — virtually all shapes and sizes, from fragile items like glassware to laptops and other electronics that require custom packing solutions.

  • Standard and fragile packing. Let our pros determine the right packaging for your needs. We offer an assortment of packs, boxes and cushioning material to protect items in transit. Or bring in your item already packed and we'll confirm it's properly protected.

Packaging for Biological Substance, Category B (UN 3373) specimens

FedEx® UN 3373 Pak
Use this plastic overwrap for specimens containing or suspected of containing infectious substances meeting the International Air Transport Association (IATA) definition of Biological Substance, Category B (UN 3373). Properly packaged shipments smaller than 7" x 4" x 2" must be shipped in the FedEx UN 3373 Pak overwrap.

Environmental Information

  • The FedEx Envelope and Legal Size Reusable FedEx Envelope are made from 100 percent recycled paperboard, and most FedEx paks contain 60 percent recycled content.
  • The FedEx Small Box, FedEx Medium Box, and FedEx Large Box contain a minimum of 25 percent recycled content. The FedEx 10kg Box and FedEx 25kg Box contain a minimum of 70 percent recycled content.
  • The corrugated boxes sold at many FedEx shipping locations contain a minimum of 20 percent recycled content.

Follow the Basics

   1. Cushioning
Choose cushioning of appropriate density and thickness and use enough to fill all void spaces in your shipping container.
   3. Sealing
Apply at least three strips of packing tape (no duct or masking tape) to the top and bottom sides of the container using the H taping method.
  2. Boxing
Select an appropriate container that is large enough to accommodate the proper thickness of cushioning material.
   4. Labeling
Place the shipping label with the recipient's full address on the most visible side of the container away from any folds or seams.
