Set preferences for faster label preparation.
Click the Preferences link at the top right of the Prepare Shipment page. You’ll see scores of ways you can set defaults for your shipping process, so you’ll always start with everything just the way you need it — no extra clicks needed.
Set up shipment profiles to create labels with just two clicks.
If you send the same type of shipment to the same recipient multiple times, use Shipment Profiles — you’ll save yourself a lot of typing. Once you’ve entered all the information, check the Create Shipment Profile box under Complete Your Shipment. Next time you need to repeat the shipment, just select the profile in the first drop-down menu on the page, then click Ship. It’s that quick.
Use e-mail notifications for automatic visibility.
If you’re not already using this feature, give it a try. You and up to two others can automatically receive four types of notifications — notifying you when a package has been shipped, when it has been picked up, when there is a delivery exception (such as inclement weather), and when a package has been delivered.
Use a credit card for single-piece shipments within the U.S.
When shipping with a credit card, you can create a user ID to create shipping labels, save addresses to your FedEx Address Book, and view shipping history. Or you can create a one-time credit card shipment and create shipping labels only. You will not have access to address book or shipment history without a user ID.
