EEI Filing Options


What types of FedEx agent filing options are available for filing Electronic Export Information (EEI, formerly known as Shipper's Export Declaration or SED) to the Automated Export System (AES)?

You may select one of the following FedEx agent filing options based on your needs:

  • FedEx Export AgentFile® application:

FedEx Export AgentFile provides exporters with a streamlined EEI filing and shipping label preparation process for regulatory compliance for FedEx Express shipments. The tool stores all of your filings, creating a record you can access online anytime within 45 days of its submission. Please note that all EEI filings records must be retained for five years from date of export as required by law. The user interface is easy to use and guides you through all of the important steps. To access this tool, go to FedEx® Global Trade Manager and click File an EEI before preparing your shipping label .
  • Manual fax process:
Hours for the EEI operation will change effective May 4, 2009. The new hours of operation will be 08:00 to 22:00 CST, Monday through Friday. Saturday will be 06:00 to 14:30 CST. No Sunday operation.

Although we would prefer that you use the FedEx Export AgentFile application mentioned above for FedEx Express® shipments, you may use this process to authorize FedEx to file EEI on your behalf. Simply print, sign and fax the form provided below to FedEx. Please note that you cannot save the completed copy of the form on your computer. To use the FedEx Express manual fax process, please complete the form below, then print, sign and fax it to 1.866.879.9037.
