Feb. 27, Fontana, CA - Race Preview
Jason Leffler
"The California Speedway events are a couple of my favorites on the schedule because they give me a chance to get back home and visit with family and friends. I love the Southern California area, and I want nothing more than to win a race out there.

"California Speedway is very wide in the corners and there are plenty of different racing grooves. If you car isn't handling in one position, you can search around and find somewhere that it does. It kind of reminds me of running on dirt where you constantly have to look around for the best racing groove.

"This will be our first race with the new rules package on a non-restrictor plate track, and I'm anxious to see how we stack up with the others. Many of our races are on one-and-a-half-to-two-mile tracks, so it's going to be important for us to get a handle on the changes so we can run competitively each week. Having two championship teammates to share information with will certainly help with that."

"Unfortunately, we had a tough go of it last week in Daytona. The FedEx Chevy was really good, but we got caught up in an accident that took us out early. We definitely wanted to finish that race and start out a little higher in the points, but we can rebound from it and get ourselves right back up there. Hopefully, that will start with a solid run this weekend at California."

Dave Rogers - Crew Chief
"The tires that Goodyear will be bringing to California give up real quick and should make for an interesting race. With our points situation, the new qualify and impound procedure, and the tire give-up, it is especially important for us to find a balance between posting a quick lap time on the front side of a run without sacrificing too much speed late in the run. Our first goal is to secure a starting position in the race, but then we have to race well to work our way into the top 35."
