Victory Junction Gang Camp Off to Fast Start in 2005 Thanks to Jason Leffler and FedEx

Driver and New Sponsor Team Up for $500,000 Donation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 17, 2005 - The Victory Junction Gang Camp got off to a strong start at Daytona today, receiving a donation of $250,000 from NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Jason Leffler as well as a matching donation of $250,000 from Leffler's new sponsor, FedEx.

"This is an incredibly generous show of support for Victory Junction by Jason and FedEx," said Victory Junction Gang Camp cofounder and NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. "Commitments like this allow us to expand the facilities at Victory Junction, to serve more children and offer more opportunity — for that, all of us thank Jason and FedEx and welcome them to the Victory Junction family."

In addition to the donation, Leffler's No.11 FedEx Chevrolet will carry a Victory Junction Gang Camp decal. The donations from Leffler and FedEx will be used to finance the construction of a new cabin at the camp and to help bring more children to the facility this year.

"My wife Alison and I feel very strongly about the camp that Kyle and Pattie (Petty) have built and want to support this great program," said Leffler. "I've been very fortunate in my career, and I want to share some of what I've been given with the children and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. It is my hope that this donation will assist in giving these children experiences that they will never forget."

The Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their late son Adam, was developed to enrich the lives of children with medical conditions by giving them camping experiences that are exciting, fun, physically safe and medically sound. The camp has eight-week-long summer sessions as well as year-long programs including family and sibling weekend retreats. Campers and families can take part in all kinds of activities including boating, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, arts and crafts and much more. There is no charge for the camp.

"This contribution underscores our support of our driver, Jason Leffler, the NASCAR community and most importantly, the children and families fighting these illnesses," said T. Michael Glenn, executive vice president of FedEx Corp. "FedEx has a strong tradition of supporting children's hospitals and touching the lives of those in need. We're very proud to be affiliated with Jason and to support the mission of the Victory Junction Gang Camp." Click to see press conference.
