FedEx AsiaOne® Network Now Includes Indonesia

Faster deliveries from Indonesia thanks to FedEx service extension

JAKARTA, October 24, 2003 -- FedEx Express (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the availability of its AsiaOne® Network to customers in Indonesia. Customers in major Indonesian cities can now reach key destinations in Asia with document and non-document shipments on the next business day.

FedEx AsiaOne® is a comprehensive intra-Asia network providing overnight delivery services among 19 major commercial centers in Asia and linking these cities to 215 countries in the FedEx worldwide system.

"FedEx has been committed to building a quick and reliable network across Asia since we set up our hub in Subic Bay in 1995. With more than half of our shipments bound for intra-Asian destinations, it is clear that our customers rely on FedEx's AsiaOne® Network for their transportation solutions," said Peter Yin, Regional Vice President of FedEx Express, South Pacific.

Operating domestically through PT Repex Perdana International, its licensed partner in Indonesia, FedEx has expanded the AsiaOne® Network coverage from Jakarta to customers in Bandung, Denpasar, Medan, Semerang, and Surabaya. The recent upgrading of facilities in Surabaya and in Denpasar -- along with the addition of new vans and trucks to the FedEx fleet in those cities -- now allows quicker processing of customer shipments. These shipments are then transported to Singapore, where the shipments link up with the FedEx AsiaOne® flights to Subic Bay and the rest of the region.

"By linking into the AsiaOne® Network, FedEx shortens delivery times for documents and non-documents to major business destinations in Asia, which now can be reached overnight -- guaranteed," said Ramesh Kumar Singam, Managing Director of FedEx Express Singapore and Indonesia. "In particular, FedEx customers in Indonesia now have next-day delivery service to Japan and China, which both are important export markets for Indonesian goods," continued Mr. Ramesh.
