What you need to know to ship lithium batteries?
Required Documents
- Shipper's Declaration required
- Shipper must be on the Section I (IA/IB) preapproval list (FX-05B)1

- Ensure the FedEx air waybill indicates the following statements “Dangerous Goods as per attached Shippers Declaration” and “Cargo Aircraft Only”
Required Packaging and Labelling
- UN specification packaging required (must meet Packing Group II standards)
- Class 9 Lithium Battery Label (Figure 1) with a CAO Label (Figure 2) affixed on the same surface

Surcharges
IDG surcharge: Yes.
AUD 83.90 per shipment or AUD 1.20 per kg, whichever is greater. A minimum billable weight may apply.

3 USA: All Section II lithium batteries bearing the Caution label are prohibited to these Alaska locations. This includes but is not limited to thoseWhich bear the Cargo Aircraft Only label as well as the FedEx Express Section II label. HAWAII: Prohibited to the Kalaupapa area of the island of Molokai, zip code 96742.
