Manage Your Claims
From the main Claims page you can file a new claim, check the status of existing claim, request a claim summary report or request a report of all open and closed claims.
All required fields are noted with an asterisk (*).
File / View Claim
Within this section, you can submit a new claim or check the status of an existing claim:
- File a Claim – enter the PRO number for the shipment in question.
- View existing claim – enter a FedEx claim number, your claim number or a PRO number
Once all information is complete, click
Submit.
Claim Report
Let us know the best way to provide your claims information:
- Account Number – select only one account number using the following options:
- Sort By – choose to sort your account list by company name or account number. After marking the appropriate option, your drop down menu will be sorted accordingly. Click on the arrow next to the drop down menu to select an account.
- Predictive Typing – type characters directly into the account drop down menu to narrow your search.
- Report type – indicate the type of report you would like to receive: list of closed claims, list of open claims, or claim summary
- Sort by – let us know the best way to organize your claims information: claim number, date, consignee or shipper
- Date range – enter the time frame for the claims you would like to review, up to 30 days
Once all information is complete, click
Submit to view your report.
File a New Claim
Enter as much information as possible about the shipment in question:
- Claimant Information
- Provide information about the company filing the claim.
- Indicate the type of claim being filed: loss or damage
- Enter the dollar amount for the claim. Note: this amount must match the total (Quantity x Unit Cost) in the Detailed Statement module below.
- Shipment Details
- Based on the PRO number entered on the previous screen, your shipment details will be provided here.
- Enter the name and contact information for any other carriers that may have handled this shipment before or after FedEx involvement.
- Detailed Statement
- Use the available space to provide a specific accounting for items lost or damaged.
- Please be as detailed as possible when providing quantities, per unit costs and descriptions of the items in question.
- If needed, you may enter up to 20 additional line items.
- Remarks
- Use the space provided to include any additional information including the best way to get in touch with you.
- Enter your contact information in the space provided.
When all information is complete, click
Submit.
The following screen will provide a claim number for tracking purposes. For updates, you can track the status of your claim from the main
Claims page.
View Claim Status
Your Claim Detail screen provides an overview of your claim as well as the current status:
- Your claim number
- FedEx claim number
- Invoice number
- Status
- Claimant
- Shipper
- Consignee
- Claim details

View Report – Open or Closed Claims
Your Claim Status report includes the following information:
- Date range – your requested time frame for the report
- Account number – the account number entered for this report
- Your claim number / FedEx Freight claim number / PRO number – all available numbers are listed. Click on any available hyperlink to view the claim details.
- Amount / Ship date / Acknowledgement date – high-level claims details are listed here
- Shipper / Consignee / Claimant – names of all parties involved in each claim
View Report – Claims Summary
Your Claim Status report includes the following information:
- Date range – your requested time frame for the report
- Account number – the account number entered for this report
- Total number of claims
- Yotal amount of claims
- Total amount of claims paid
- Total amount of claims denied
- Total amount of claims being worked
