References
A reference is a customizable field that allows you to record details about different kinds of shipments. They appear on your FedEx invoice or on administrative reports.
When a user is assigned to a department, that department’s references become the default settings for that user. To customize references at the user level for greater flexibility and control, select Customize privileges, references and defaults in the User Settings section on the User Profile screen.
To assign references and reference lists to departments and individual users, refer to Department and User References.
The Shipping Administrator has the option of configuring the following 4 Reference fields:

Click the References tab on the Shipping Administration screen to view a list of existing References.
Search or select References to display
Sort References
Add References to a Reference List
Select one or more References, and then click the Reference List from the Add to drop-down menu. Refer to Reference Lists for more information.
Edit a Reference
Select the Reference, and click Edit. The Edit Reference screen displays.
Delete a Reference
Select the Reference, and click Delete. Click OK to confirm the deletion and remove the Reference from the system.
Import/Export References
Reference Lists
Click Reference lists to view, edit, delete or create new Reference Lists. This brings up the Reference Lists screen.
Create a new Reference
Click Create new reference. This brings up the Add Reference screen.
