The FedEx® Email / Online Label application is designed to make it quick and easy for a user to log in, select a shipment to process, print the associated label, and tender their shipment to FedEx.
The information associated with the shipment, such as the service type, destination address, recipient name, etc. has been pre-populated by the recipient.
Generally, this makes it very easy for the FedEx Email / Online Label user to successfully process the shipment.

Processing FedEx Email / Online Labels
 
Processing FedExEmail / Online® Labels involves the following steps:
 
  1. Log in via the recipient provided email link or the associated ID and password combination.
  2.  
  3. Take a moment to review the resulting Review Your FedEx Label screen to ensure familiarity with the application environment.
  4.  
  5. Verify Your Information in Section A. is accurate.
  6.  
  7. (Optional) If there are multiple pending shipments, select the desired pending label from Pending Labels to reveal Review and Print Label as well as View / Edit Shipment Details sections for that specific shipment or select the Print All Labels button below that section to print all available pending labels (only available if all pending shipments are US Domestic shipments with no associated documents).

  9. Take note of any introductory instructions or personal messages from the requester / recipient at the top of the screen which provides the user with recipient contact information in the event that the user requests either the cancellation of a shipment or the altering of shipment information that cannot be edited within the application.

  11. Pay attention to the Access Label Until date within the Label Information section which advises the user as to how much longer the Email / online Label application will allow the user to postpone processing the shipment.

  13. (Optional) Select links listed beneath Documents Provided by the Requestor to view / print accompanying documentation if any has been provided.

  15. Verify that all information within the Review and Print Label area is accurate,.. If changes are needed, make edits within the application where possible or contact the recipient to alter shipment information that cannot be edited within the application.

  17. For International shipments:
    • Review information and provide any required input / selections within the View / Edit Shipment Details section -- including any Shipping Information such as Shipping Details, Package Details, Commodity Information or Returns Information as well as Label Information, Shipping Documents, Commodity / Export / Customs Information and/or Return Information options that may apply found in the lower half of the screen. If changes are needed, make edits within the application where possible or contact the recipient to alter shipment information that cannot be edited within the application.

    • Select a ship date (up to 10 business days in the future).

  19. Click the Prepare Label button at the bottom of the screen to proceed with the label production process. For US Domestic shipments with no associated documents or editable Shipping Information / options, users may proceed directly to selecting the Print Label button to initiate the label printing process.

  21. (Optional) Select any associated / suggested Shipping Documents to print along with the label.

  23. (Optional) Select the desired method of printing. (Details regarding the various options can be found in the Print Your Labels section of Quick Help).

    Note: New users of Email / Online Label intending to print their label(s) to their laser printer may generally forgo the print method selection process. The initial default setting for print method is "Generate plain paper shipping labels for printing one at a time."

  25. Click the Print Label button at the bottom of the Complete Your FedEx Label screen to initiate the label printing process.

  27. After completing the label printing process, determine the most appropriate means of tendering the shipment(s) to FedEx and proceed accordingly.

Time Limits, Lead Time, and Scheduling
 
A date indicating the time remaining for a user to initiate the processing of shipments is available under Access Label Until in the Label Information section of the Review and Print Your Labels screen within the application.
 
Once an Email / Online Label shipment has been initially processed, the user has an additional five (5) days to access or reprint the label if the first attempt was unsuccessful or if the printed label was damaged.
 
After successfully completing the label printing process, some considerations should be taken into account when determining the most appropriate means of tendering shipment(s) to FedEx.
 
If the shipment is being shipped via a FedEx Express® service type (FedEx Priority Overnight®, FedEx Standard Overnight®, and FedEx 2Day®):
 
It may be easiest and most convenient for the Email / Online Label user to drop off their processed shipment (with printed label appropriately affixed) at the nearest FedExAuthorized Ship Center. The" Drop-off Locations" button within the Drop Off / Pickup section of the application can assist the user in finding the nearest location.
 
OR
 
If the user has a regularly scheduled FedExExpress® pickup they may tender the FedExEmail / Online Label shipment (with printed label appropriately affixed) to their FedExExpress® courier when he arrives at the regularly scheduled time.
 
OR
 
Some FedEx Email / Online Label users will be presented, at the recipient's discretion, with the opportunity to Schedule a Pickup after printing their shipping label. To utilize this option the user must ensure that their package (with printed label appropriately affixed) is ready to tender to the FedExExpress®courier in advance of scheduling the pickup.
 
Note: To schedule a same day pickup for FedExExpress®shipments the user's requested pickup time must be available and the package must be ready in advance of the attempt to schedule.
 
If the shipment is being shipped via FedExGround® Service from a Commercial Service location:
 
It may be easiest and most convenient for the Email / Online Label user to drop off their processed shipment (with printed label appropriately affixed) at the nearest FedExAuthorized Ship Center. The "Drop-off Locations" button within the Drop Off / Pickup section of the application can assist the user in finding the nearest location.
 
OR
 
If the user has a regularly scheduled FedExGround pickup they may tender the FedExEmail / Online Label shipment (with printed label appropriately affixed) to their FedExGround driver when he arrives at the regularly scheduled time.
 
OR
 
Some FedExEmail / Online Label users will be presented, at the recipient's discretion, with the opportunity to Schedule a Pickup after printing their shipping label. To utilize this option the user must ensure that their package (with printed label appropriately affixed) is ready to tender to the FedExGround driver in advance of scheduling the pickup. FedExGround pickups may be scheduled for as soon as the next business day.
 
If the shipment is being shipped via FedExGround® Service from a Residential Service location:
 
Email / Online Label shipments falling into this category must be dropped off (with printed label appropriately affixed) at the nearest FedExAuthorized Ship Center. The "Drop-off Locations" button within the application can assist the user in finding the nearest location.

View History / Reprint Labels
 
For up to 5 days after an Email / Online Label shipment has been printed, cancelled or expires, the user can view the details of a past shipment and reprint its associated label or documents. If multiple Email / Online Label shipments are pending, select the Reprint/History link above the Pending Labels section of the screen to View History / Reprint Labels.
 
If multiple shipments have been processed, select the desired Label from the History list before selecting the Reprint Label button at the bottom to initiate the label reprinting process.
