Help Options



Help menu
Click the Help menu at the top of each page for FAQ’s, specific instructions, and additional information for the sections and processes you see on the screen.


Frequently Asked Questions




Edit and Hide



After selecting an account, the Get FedEx Freight Rates screen will update to reflect your choice.
  • To open a closed section, click Edit at the top of the section.
  • To close an opened section, click Hide at the top of the section.

Get a Quick Rate



Complete the required information on the Get FedEx Freight Rates screen and click Get Rate to review your service and rate options.

Note: To calculate a rate for an international or offshore shipment, please click the International / Offshore tab at the top of the screen or contact our International Customer Service team at 1.866.393.4685.

All required fields are noted with an asterisk (*).

Account Selection
Select your desired account number from the dropdown menu.

To locate the appropriate account numbers:
  1. Sort By – choose to sort your account list by company name or account number. After marking the appropriate option, your drop down menu will be sorted accordingly. Click on the arrow next to the drop down menu to select an account.
  2. Predictive Typing – type characters directly into the account drop down menu to narrow your search.

Payment Type / Terms
Select the appropriate shipper type and term for your shipment:
  1. Shipper Type: Shipper, Consignee, or Third party
  2. Shipper terms: Prepaid or Collect

Shipment Details
  • From – enter the Country and Zip code for the shipment origin
    - You may enter Country and Zip code combinations for the United States, Canada and Mexico. - For som Zip codes, a city input is required. You will be provided with a drop down menu for selection.
  • To – enter the Country and Zip code for the shipment destination
    - You may enter Country and Zip code combinations for the United States, Canada and Mexico. - For som Zip codes, a city input is required. You will be provided with a drop down menu for selection.
  • Class – let us know the class designation for your shipment, between 50 and 500. For a quick and easy way to get a classification estimate, use the LTL Freight Classification Tool. You can also contact Customer Service at 1.866.393.4585. Be sure to note each commodity separately. .
  • Weight – enter the total weight of the shipment. Be sure to note each commodity separately.
  • Package Type – from the drop down menu select the packaging type that best describes your shipment
    - This field is only required for unit-pricing requests.
    - If there is more than one commodity in the shipment, Package Type must be the same for each commodity
  • Unit Pricing – to view unit pricing, please note the following:
    - Enter the total handling units in the space provided
    - Enter the packaging type of the shipment
    - You must have a unit pricing agreement in place

Additional Services
Let us know if any additional services are required for your shipment by checking each applicable option. If applicable, enter a dollar amount in the space provided for Declared Value and COD Amount.

Click the links on the Get Rates page to learn more about the rules and additional charges for each service.

Rate this Shipment
Once all information is complete, click Get Rate for a detailed rate summary.

Get a Detailed Rate



The default setting for the Get Rates screen is the Quick Rate option. To access the Detailed Rate option, click the arrow within the Get Rates tab and select Detailed Rate within the drop down menu. To return to the Quick Rate option, click the arrow within the Get Rates tab and select Quick Rate within the drop down menu.

Note: You may use the Detailed Rate to calculate your charges for shipments originating in the United States, Canada and Mexico. To calculate a rate for an international or offshore shipment, including intra-Mexico shipments, please click the International / Offshore tab at the top of the screen or contact International Customer Service at 1.866.393.4685.

Complete the required information on the Get Rates screen and click Get Rate to review your FedEx Freight and/or FedEx National LTL service and rate options.

Account Selection

From
If you are the shipper, your account information will be populated for you. When you are not the shipper, use one of the following options to enter or select the shipment origin information.
  • Select a saved entry from your Address Book.
  • Enter all required information for a new shipper. Once all fields have been completed, check Save to Address Book to retain shipping details for future shipments.

To
If you are the consignee, your account information will be populated for you. When you are not the consignee, use one of the following options to enter or select the shipment origin information.
  • Select a saved entry from your Address Book.
  • Enter all required information for a new recipient. Once all fields have been completed, check Save to Address Book to retain shipping details for future shipments.

Third Party Information
If you are the third-party, your account information will be populated for you. When you are not the third-party, use one of the following options to enter or select the shipment origin information.
  • Select a saved entry from your Address Book.
  • Enter all required information for a new third party. Once all fields have been completed, check Save to Address Book to retain shipping details for future shipments.

Shipment Details
Enter as much information as possible about your shipment.
  • Packaging Type – from the drop down menu select the packaging type that best describes your shipment
    - This field is only required for unit-pricing requests.
    - If there is more than one commodity in the shipment, Package Type must be the same for each commodity
  • Pieces – enter the total number of pieces included in the shipment
  • Class – let us know the class designation for your shipment, between 50 and 500. For a quick and easy way to get a classification estimate, use the LTL Freight Classification Tool. You can also contact Customer Service at 1.866.393.4585. Be sure to note each commodity separately.
  • Weight – enter the total weight of the shipment
  • HazMat – check this box if your shipment contains HazMat materials
  • NMFC – let us know the class designation for your shipment, between 50 and 500. For a quick and easy way to get a classification estimate, use the LTL Freight Classification Tool. You can also contact Customer Service at 1.866.393.4585. Be sure to note each commodity separately.
  • Description – add descriptive information about each piece of your shipment
  • Unit Pricing – to view unit pricing, please note the following:
    - Enter the total handling units in the space provided
    - You must have a unit pricing agreement in place

Rate this Shipment
Once all information is complete, click Get Rate for a detailed rate summary.

From / To
Your origin and destination locations are highlighted. Roll your mouse over each location for Service Center address and contact information.

Your Negotiated Rates
Based on your negotiated contract rates, all applicable service options are listed for your review:
  • Delivery date – defines all possible delivery dates and times based on the shipment information you’ve entered
  • Transit days – highlights the transit days for each delivery option
  • Service – identifies the FedEx operating company that will deliver your shipment as well as the name of the service option
  • Rate - shows the calculated rate for each delivery option, listed in US dollars
    • Roll your mouse over the rate to view additional components of your rate, including the shipment charge, fuel surcharge and any accessorial charges.

Get Another Rate
Click this button to return to the main Get Rates page to calculate additional rates.

View / Print Rate
Click on the selection button next to the service option that you would like to review further and click View / Print Rate. Details of your rate will appear in a pop-up window for your review. To print the rate details for your records, simply click the print icon at the top of the screen.

Complete a Bill of Lading
Click this button to transfer all of your shipment details to the Bill of Lading screen. From there, you can enter additional details to complete your shipping documents.

Schedule a Pickup
Click this button to transfer all of your shipment details to the Pickup screen. From there, you can enter additional details to schedule a pickup for this shipment.
