Keep your shipping arrangement on track

Do you have a regular arrangement where the sender books the shipment and the receiver pays?

You can keep this arrangement running smoothly as you or your shipping partners start shipping with FedEx. Whether you’re the sender or the payer and receiver, here’s everything you need to know.

When’s the move to FedEx?

If you’re going to start shipping with FedEx, we’ll email you to confirm the exact date your TNT account will be deactivated.

If it’s your shipping partner who’s going to start shipping with FedEx, reach out to them for the details and make sure you both remember the date.

While the receiver’s TNT account is still active

You can continue booking shipments in myTNT using the receiver’s TNT account, with their permission.

  1. Log in to myTNT and start creating your shipment as usual. You’ll see a message saying you can only proceed if you’re billing the recipient
  2. Select the recipient’s account in the Billing Information section. If you select your own account for billing, you’ll receive an error message
  3. Complete your shipment as usual

Once the receiver’s TNT account has been deactivated, you’ll receive an error message in the Billing Information section when you try to select their account.

When the receiver starts shipping with FedEx

To continue booking shipments using the receiver’s FedEx account:

  1. Open your own FedEx shipping account, if you don’t have one yet
  2. Get the receiver’s FedEx account number
  3. Start booking shipments using their account number, with their permission

You and the receiver will both need active FedEx accounts. You’ll also need access to FedEx shipping tools to book shipments using the receiver’s account.

  1. Make sure your FedEx account is activated
  2. Share your FedEx account number with your senders
  3. Give them permission to use your account for billing
  4. Keep in mind that senders will also need their own FedEx account number and access to FedEx shipping tools to book shipments using your account
  5. Continue paying for shipments with your FedEx account

Your shipping partners can continue booking shipments on your TNT account while it’s still active.

Once your TNT account has been deactivated, they’ll see an error message in the Billing Information section in myTNT when they try to select your account.

How to get started?

If you don’t have a FedEx account yet, open one to get started.

Don’t want to open a FedEx account?

No problem. It’ll just mean a little bit more paperwork for your shipping partner.

Your shipping partner can create shipping labels, air waybills and other documents using their FedEx account. They can then send these to you to print and include with your shipments.
