Global Shipping Prohibited Items

What are prohibited items?

Prohibited items are goods that, by law, cannot be shipped, received, stored, imported, or exported under any circumstances. This is usually due to health and safety concerns, or other risks associated with the item. If an item is prohibited, it is legally forbidden to move it across borders — whether from the origin country or into the destination country.

Each country regulates this area and maintains its own list of items that cannot be exported from or imported into its territory. It is important to consult the relevant authorities in your country to ensure full compliance prior to shipping.

What are restricted shipping items?

Restricted items are goods that may be shipped, received, stored, imported, or exported, but only under specific conditions. These conditions often involve obtaining approvals from regulatory agencies or securing special permits or licenses.

Restricted items differ from prohibited items in that they are not outright banned; however, they require additional compliance steps before shipment can take place.

FedEx shipping restrictions

FedEx does not accept shipments of items that are prohibited by law (for example, illegal narcotics), and in addition to that, there are a number of items which FedEx prohibits shipment to any destination, regardless of the service. Please refer to the Prohibited Items section of the FedEx Conditions of Carriage for a full list of items that are not accepted by FedEx.

Please ensure adherence to the FedEx Conditions of Carriage and review additional FedEx country-specific limitations. Please contact your local FedEx Sales Representative or our Customer Service for additional information.
