Under FedEx Cares, FedEx invests in programs that stand to make life better for people in communities where we live and work.
Our strategy is simple: do what we do best for those in need. This includes sharing our knowledge and resources in collaboration with trusted non-governmental and non-profit organizations to tackle some society problems.
FedEx aims to deliver measurable, long-lasting impact in communities around the world by focusing our efforts on five key areas:
- Delivering for good
- Road safety
- Sustainable transportation
- Global entrepreneurship
- Employment pathways
In FY16 we pledged to invest $200 million in more than 200 global communities by 2020. By the end of the fiscal year, FedEx Express reported $46 million in charitable contributions, benefitting 97 communities around the world.
As well as financial contributions and in-kind shipping, FedEx also engages its 400,000 team members in support of FedEx Cares. Volunteerism is a strong part of FedEx culture and the engagement of our workforce further strengthens our corporate efforts. In FY16, our team members volunteered more than 93,000 hours toward good causes in over 500 cities worldwide.
