- The Importer of Record (IOR) is a legal entity responsible for ensuring that imported goods comply with all customs and legal regulations of the importing country.
The IOR must be an entity that is locally registered in the destination country. This role can be filled by the goods' owner or by someone specifically designated, such as customs brokers.
