Out of Delivery/Pick-up Area Surcharge

FedEx Express international shipments delivered to or picked up from remote and less-accessible locations are charged an out-of-delivery-area or out-of-pickup-area surcharge. A list of postal codes and cities where these surcharges apply is available here.

Duty & Tax Advancement Fee

Effective March 2, 2020, the FedEx Duty & Tax Handling Fee will continue to be 2% of import duty amount but with increased minimum charge of TWD 210* per shipment.

* Rates include 5% VAT

Additional Handling Surcharge

Effective January 20, 2020, an Additional Handling Surcharge applies to any package that meets any of the following criteria:


A surcharge applies to a shipment containing any package that:

1) measures greater than 121 centimeters along its longest side;

2) measures greater than 76 centimeters along its second-longest side;

Package shape and dimensions may change during transit, which can affect the package’s surcharge eligibility. If the dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate adjustments to the shipment charges at any time.


A surcharge applies to a shipment containing any freight handling unit that measures greater than 157 centimeters along its longest side.

We reserve the right to assess additional handling charges for freight and any freight handling unit that requires special handling during transit.


Oversize Charge

Effective January 20, 2020, an oversize charge applies to a shipment containing packages that exceed 243 centimeters in length or 330 centimeters in length and girth (L+2W+2H).

Package shape and dimensions may change during transit, which can affect the package’s surcharge eligibility. If the dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate adjustments to the shipment charges at any time.

Third Party Billing Surcharge

Effective January 22, 2018, a Third Party Billing Surcharge will apply to shipments that are billed to a third party. The surcharge will be charged to the third-party payer. The Third Party Billing Surcharge applies when an account unrelated to the shipper, as solely determined by FedEx, is billed as a third party for the shipment. Please see the online Standard Conditions of Carriage for the definition of a Bill Third Party shipment.

Temporary Surcharge on All FedEx Express Shipments (Effective April 6, 2020)

FedEx is an essential business keeping commerce moving and delivering critical relief during the COVID-19 crisis. We are still delivering for you as the applicable regulations allow despite local restrictions in various parts of the world.

These restrictions are disrupting the global supply chain and our costs have gone up in the new operating conditions. To continue providing our customers with the best possible service during this time, we are implementing a temporary surcharge on all FedEx Express international parcel and freight shipments beginning April 6, 2020.

Manual Air Waybill Surcharge (Effective April 6, 2020)

Starting from April 6, 2020, we will impose a surcharge for the provision of manual air waybills. Customers who opt for manual air waybills will be charged NTD 100 per piece with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.  The launch of the manual air waybill surcharge will also be a part of our digital initiative going forward.

You may continue to use manual air waybills already on hand, however if you order additional manual air waybills from April 6, you will be charged a fee of NTD 1,000 for an order 10 pieces of manual air waybills. The surcharge will be billed on a separate invoice to you.
