Include a pre-printed return label and/or commercial invoice in the box with your outbound shipment.
If it isn't used, you won’t be charged. Here’s how it works:
1. Include a return label and three return commercial invoices in the outbound shipment
2. Recipient requests a return
3. Recipient places the label and three commercial invoices in the plastic pouch
4. Recipient schedules a pickup or drops the package off at a FedEx location*
5. Package is returned to you
*Certain FedEx locations are operated by independent third parties in cooperation with FedEx
When the recipient has requested a return, you can email the documents to them. Here’s how it works:
1. Recipient requests a return
2. You generate a PDF label and email it to them
3. Recipient prints the label at home or a FedEx location*
4. Recipient schedules a pickup or drops the package off at a FedEx location
5. Package is returned to you
*Certain FedEx locations are operated by independent third parties in cooperation with FedEx. Label printing is not available in all locations.
Please contact your local FedEx Customer Service for more details.
When the recipient has requested a return, you can email a link to the FedEx portal where they can generate and customize a return label themselves. Here’s how it works:
1. Recipient requests a return
2. You create the return label and documents and decide how much control your recipient has over the return by granting permissions
3. FedEx sends an email to the recipient with your shipment information and a link to access the return label page
4. Recipient fills in the necessary information on the return label page
5. Recipient prints the label at home or a FedEx location*
6. Recipient schedules a pickup or drops the package off at a FedEx location
7. Package is returned to you

Personal import tax refunds for returns
In the event of returning a shipment that entered Israel under personal import and was charged import taxes in accordance with the Israel Tax and Customs Authority regulations, the customer is entitled to file a claim for a refund on the personal import taxes charged, upon initiating the return shipment.
The claim must be submitted independently by the shipper via the Israel Tax and Customs Authority website. To obtain the required export documentation needed to file the claim, please contact us according to the process detailed below.
The customer must schedule a pickup for the shipment via fedex.com and/or through our Customer Service hotline. Immediately upon creating the pickup—and before the shipment is collected from the claimant and departs the country—an email must be sent requesting the export documents for the personal import tax refund claim paid upon the shipment's entry into Israel through Israel Customs.
The email should be sent to: il_meches@fedex.com
In the subject line of the email sent to the FedEx team, please state: "Request for export documents for a personal import tax refund claim + [Insert Air Waybill/Tracking Number]", and attach the following documents:
- The original inbound Air Waybill (AWB) of the shipment.
- The original vendor/supplier invoice.
- The outbound export Air Waybill (AWB) for the return.
- The export invoice / customs invoice for the returned shipment.
- Form 87 – Application form for the inspection of exported goods for which a tax refund claim will be filed under Section 156 of the Customs Ordinance. please download, fill out, sign, and attach it to the email. The form is available for download at our Taxes, fees and customs clearance costs page.
- Physical Inspection: We will submit a request to the Tax and Customs Authority to perform a physical inspection of the goods to verify they have not been used. Please note: This may delay the shipment's departure from the country. This inspection is mandatory in order to issue an export declaration (Customs Entry) for the claimant.
- Document Delivery: Upon completion of the export declaration (Customs Entry), we will reply to the claimant's email with the official export documents required to file the claim on the Israel Tax and Customs Authority website.
- After the required export documents are issued by FedEx, we will send them to the claimant.
- The claimant must submit the tax refund application independently on the Israel Customs website, subject to submitting all relevant documents as detailed on the Tax and Customs Authority website.
