I didn't expect to pay duty on goods valued under €150. Why did I get an invoice?

When your goods clear customs, duties and taxes may be charged by the local customs authorities. Before 1 July 2026, goods valued below €150 were exempt from customs duty when imported into the EU. On 1 July 2026, this exemption, also known as the "de minimis" threshold, ended.

As a result, customs duty may now apply to all goods imported into the EU. For goods valued at up to €150, customs duty is calculated for each line item on the customs declaration.
