Effective January 18, 2021, certain international shipments to/from the U.S. will be assessed an out-of-delivery-area surcharge or an out-of-pickup-area surcharge for International Express Freight services based on the ZIP code location of the pick-up or delivery.

A list of postal codes and cities where these surcharges apply is available here.

Temporary Surcharge Renamed as "Peak Surcharge" Effective November 2, 2020

COVID-19 has disrupted supply chains, reducing air cargo capacity globally.

This disruption has caused us to make adjustments to our networks which has increased our costs. As a result, we announced a 'Temporary Surcharge' on all FedEx Express and TNT international parcel and freight shipments beginning  April 6, 2020.

Beginning November 2, 2020, the 'Temporary Surcharge' will be renamed as 'Peak Surcharge'.

Peak Surcharge Adjustment on Outbound Shipments from South Korea

We announced a peak surcharge on all FedEx Express international parcel and freight shipments beginning April 6, 2020.

We implemented this surcharge due to the various COVID-19 containment restrictions issued in countries around the world. Those restrictions continue to disrupt the global supply chain. As a result, air cargo capacity is limited, and we are incurring incremental costs as we adjust our international networks to best deliver much-needed goods and services in this constrained environment.

From January 25, 2021, the surcharge amount for some FedEx Express international parcel and freight shipments originating in Korea will increase. These increases will allow us to continue providing the best possible service during this time. Updated amounts can be found below.
