Korea shipments now require 5-digit postal code

Share this page:

It’s now necessary to use the new-5 digit postal code system that’s recently been introduced by the Korea Customs Service (KCS) on all your Korean import and export documents. Here are brief guidelines for you and your customers to watch out for when using our shipping services:

  • with immediate effect you should make sure that you always enter the new postal codes on your shipping documents and whenever using FedEx shipping tools;
  • if old 6-digit postal codes (or incorrect codes) are used then the shipping process will be subject to delay and possible additional charges until such discrepancies can be rectified;
  • details of all new 5-digit postal codes can be found at Korea e-Post site against relevant road name details or land-lot number addresses;
  • if you are based outside Korea and wish to use and update the Korean addresses you have recorded in FedEx automation tools - including ‘FedEx Ship Manager software’ and ‘FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com’ - please click here to access the user guide;

If you have any questions, please contact your FedEx account executive or Customer Service.
