Duty and Tax: Your Questions Answered

Share this page:

When you order an item from outside of the European Union you are often required to pay Customs Duty and VAT. The purpose of this is to bring the cost of imported goods up to the same cost as those produced within the EU to keep competition fair.

Usually, the person or business receiving the shipment is legally obliged to pay Duty and Tax unless the sender has agreed to accept the charges in the contract of sale. This means that you’re likely to receive a Duty and Tax invoice shortly after receiving a shipment from outside of the EU.

We’ve therefore put together a dedicated webpage to answer all your Duty and Tax related questions. So, if you have any questions about your Duty and Tax invoice visit to find out more.
