Oregon – 4-Axle Class Champion
For the 15th time, Dan won an Oregon state title – this one in 4-Axle. He was the 2006 National 3-Axle Champion and finished second in the class in 2008. Additionally, he earned Vehicle Condition Awards in 1997 and 2006. A 31-year safe driver with FedEx Freight based in Portland, he has accumulated more than 1.3 million accident-free miles during his career. Dan believes that his priority as a professional driver is to set the example of safety on the roadways. In his spare time, Dan enjoys camping, hiking, woodworking and gardening. He and his wife, Kathy, have four children (James, David, Deanna and Zack) and four grandchildren: Levi (4), Jackson (3), Aurora (3) and Henry (1). The Shamrells live in Battle Ground, Washington.
