What is the American Express OPEN Savings® benefit?

The OPEN Savings benefit is built in to all Business Cards from American Express OPEN. Business Cardmembers automatically get discounts as statement credits or additional Membership Rewards points for each eligible dollar spent when they use their Business Card for payment at participating OPEN Savings merchants, including FedEx. The OPEN Savings benefit can be combined with other promotions offered by FedEx, including the FedEx Advantage® program and fedex.com discount.

Do I need to have a FedEx account number to receive the OPEN Savings® benefit?

No. American Express OPEN Business Cardmembers automatically get discounts as statement credits or additional Membership Rewards points for each eligible dollar spent when they use their Business Card for payment on qualifying services at FedEx.

What is the FedEx Advantage® program?

The FedEx Advantage program, which is owned and operated by FedEx, offers additional FedEx discounts. The FedEx Advantage program discount is up to 16% on select FedEx Express® U.S. services; 15% on FedEx International Priority® and FedEx International Economy® services; up to 12% on FedEx Ground® services, including FedEx Home Delivery®; up to 65% on FedEx Freight® Priority and FedEx Freight® Economy services; and up to 20% on FedEx Office® products and business services. Enroll in the FedEx Advantage program to receive these discounts by going to the FedEx Advantage program page and entering passcode 3G9B1R26.

How do I reduce the number of FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipment charges on my Business Card from American Express OPEN?

If you have a Business Card from American Express OPEN linked to your FedEx account, you can reduce the number of FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipment transactions on your card statement by calling Revenue Services at 1.800.622.1147 and requesting "invoice-level settlements." This will aggregate all of the daily shipments into one charge that is billed to your credit card each day there is shipment activity.

Where can I find detailed information about my FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® shipments once the account is linked to my Business Card from American Express OPEN and I no longer receive detailed invoices?

Once your FedEx account is linked, your FedEx Express and FedEx Ground purchases will appear on your American Express statement. You will no longer receive an invoice for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments from FedEx; however, you can review your detailed account information using FedEx Billing Online. Select View/Pay Bills Online from the Manage tab at fedex.com.

Will I still get an itemized bill for FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® shipments from FedEx after linking my account to the Business Card from American Express OPEN?

No. Once the Business Card from American Express OPEN is linked to the FedEx account for direct billing, FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipping invoices will end, and charges will appear only on your American Express monthly statement.

I paid my FedEx Express and FedEx Ground invoice using my Business Card from American Express OPEN, but did not receive the OPEN Savings® benefit. Why?

Invoiced billing for FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® shipments is not eligible for the OPEN Savings benefit. To receive the OPEN Savings benefit, payment must be made with a Business Card from American Express OPEN at the time of shipment.

Can the Business Card from American Express OPEN be unlinked from my FedEx account?

Yes. The Business Card from American Express OPEN can be unlinked from the FedEx account at any time, and you will begin receiving FedEx invoices for FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® shipments again.
