FedEx rate changes
We regularly evaluate our shipping rates and fees and adjust them when needed. This enables us to keep investing in our business so we can continue delivering the shipping solutions you need and the excellent service you’ve come to expect from us.
Here are the details of recent changes to list rates and fees, along with information on other factors that might affect your shipping rates.
Effective Feb.1, 2027
FedEx will make changes to the zone classification for select U.S. domestic origin-destination ZIP code pairs.

Effective Jan. 18, 2027
- FedEx is introducing the following fees effective Jan. 18, 2027:
- A Paper Document Fee of $25 per shipment when any associated trade document is provided in a non-electronic format prior to the processing of the shipment, requiring manual processing by FedEx.
- A Paper Air Waybill Fee of $5 per shipment will be applied to U.S. domestic and export FedEx shipments initiated with manual paper airbills.
- The Residential Delivery Charge will be applied to qualifying international package and express freight shipments to select destination countries, and all qualifying international shipments to the U.S. and Canada will be subject to the Residential Delivery Charge. A list of destination countries will be available at a later date.

Effective Aug. 3, 2026
The U.S. Inbound Processing Fee will be renamed the Inbound Processing Fee. See the FedEx Service Guide for details.Â
As of this date, the fee will also apply to all shipments destined to European Union (EU) member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. The fee does not apply to shipments from one EU member state to another.

Effective July 20, 2026
- There will be changes to the Delivery Area Surcharge and Pickup Area Surcharge ZIP code lists for FedEx U.S. package services. Preview ZIP code lists effective July 20, 2026.
- FedEx will increase the Disbursement Fee from the greater of $15 or 2% of duty, tax, and merchandise processing fee charges to the greater of $17.50 or 2.5% of duty, tax, and merchandise processing fee charges. See the FedEx Service Guide for details.

Demand surcharge information
As FedEx prepares for high demand during the holiday season, we are implementing certain demand surcharges and fees to continue to provide customers with the best possible service.

Effective Sept. 21, 2026, FedEx will adjust the Demand Surcharge for U.S. international services, as well as apply Demand — Non-standard shipments fees, which include the Demand — Additional Handling Surcharge, the Demand — Oversize Charge, and the Demand — Unauthorized Charge, to international package shipments.*

FedEx package rates
- FedEx package standard list rates for U.S., U.S. export, and U.S. import services will increase an average of 5.9%.
- FedEx Ground® Economy, FedEx Ground Multiweight®, FedEx International Premium®, and FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® rates will increase. Minimum rates for FedEx U.S. and international package services will also increase.

Why are there seasonal demand surcharges during the holiday shipping season?
Each year as FedEx prepares for high demand during the holiday season, we adjust our networks to best deliver for our customers. Even during challenging market conditions, we remain committed to providing the best customer service possible. To support the changes to our networks, we will implement demand surcharges.
How can I get a current FedEx rate quote?
You can view standard list and retail rate tables by delivery service to see how much it costs to ship your package. You can also determine delivery zone by ZIP code or find out how to sign up your customers to access FedEx shipping rates directly from your website.

How do electronic shipping solutions support the rate change?
- FedEx package shipping rate changes will be available to all users of FedEx Ship Manager® at fedex.com and FedEx Web Services.
- FedEx package shipping rates will be downloaded to all versions of FedEx Ship Manager® and FedEx Ship Manager® Server on or after Jan. 4, 2027.
To ensure your automation solution reflects the 2027 rate changes, you will need to be on the latest versions of software.
